Sometimes, when I have finished a book, I read the reviews on Goodreads, and usually I find someone has summed up my feelings fairly well. This time “Theresa” said: “It’s what I label lit lite; the writing style is clearly literary fiction, but the tone/plot/subject matter is light enough to enjoy by a pool in between swims”. 

Sloane Tannen is clearly a bright writer. She is witty and her cleverness shines through her fiction. I gave this one 3 stars because I could predict different plot points, and I’m not great at that, so I figure that they must have been fairly obvious, which I don’t love. This was a sweet read to start the year and I'd probably recommend it as a vacation book.

A veces, cuando termino un libro, leo las reseñas en Goodreads, y generalmente encuentro que alguien ha resumido mis pensamientos bastante bien. Esta vez "Theresa" dijo: "Es lo que yo llamo lit lite; el estilo de escritura es claramente ficción literaria, pero el tono/trama/tema es lo suficientemente ligero como para disfrutarlo en una piscina entre nadadas ".

Sloane Tannen es claramente una escritora brillante. Ella es ingeniosa y su inteligencia brilla a través de su ficción. Le di 3 estrellas a esta novela porque podía predecir diferentes puntos de la trama, y no soy buena en eso, así que creo que deben haber sido bastante obvios, lo cual no me encanta. Esta fue una buena lectura para comenzar el año y probablemente lo recomendaría como un libro para unas vacaciones.
